Medical Services - PAP Smear Clinic and Mobile GP Clinic

Pap Smear Clinic

MWHCP provides free weekly clinics to women in the region who require a Pap Smear test. These 20 minute appointments give women a chance to talk confidentially and in detail with a professional female practitioner. These clinics give women an opportunity to discuss sexual health issues that may otherwise go unaddressed.
This service to the community is provided on minimal funding through a partnership with FPWA. Our thanks to Julie Robertson for continued commitment to providing a friendly, comfortable and professional service to our clients.
These clinics are accessed by women who are considered “High Risk”by the WA Cervical Cancer Prevention Program often including women who have not been tested in 8 or more years.
Providing a free clinic staffed by a female nurse practitioner means MWHCP reaches an audience of women who would otherwise not have the test regardless of having a regular GP.

Mobile GP Clinic

We have a Female GP operating from our premises. MWHCP will be working in conjunction with the Mobile GP to provide free GP consultations. This is a new opportunity to give our clients a service that will not only compliment our current program but also give them a more holistic approach to self care. Women attending will become clients of Mobile GP Clinic and no files will be kept with MWHCP.

Information and Referral

The Women’s Health Program includes a full resource library on Women’s Health Issues covering subjects from Diet & Nutrition, Mental Health, Parenting, Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault, to Menopause and many more.
The library is furnished with internet ready computers where clients are encouraged to conduct their own research. Women are welcome to ‘drop-in’ to the centre for tea or coffee and chat with staff and other women about their health and wellbeing. The program also offers an extensive referral service for women’s related issues.
This area of service has experienced significant growth in the past year as demand for services in the area increases and MWHCP has established itself as a leading provider of helpful assistance to the community.
