Groups and courses run by MWHCP

Each term MWHCP publishes a timetable of low cost groups and courses available to women in the region to improve their health and wellbeing. The below listed groups and courses ran in 2007-2008 through the Women’s Health Program. The Women’s Health Program receives core funding from the Department of Health through the Women’s and Newborn’s Health Service.
Therapeutic groups in areas such as Beating the Blues (Depression) and Worry No More (Panic & Anxiety) are run on a term by term basis and are highly effective in providing support and reducing isolation. Tai Chi for Arthritis, Mums and Babies Yoga, Art for Creativity & Indian Head Massage are all popular workshops run under the Women’s Health Program each term.
A wholistic approach to women’s health is taken in putting together the timetable incorporating all aspects of emotional, physical, financial and spiritual health. These low cost groups are focused on fostering a sense of community and over-all wellbeing.
